Psi Chi

Psi Chi is a national honor society that seeks to attract top undergraduate students interested in the field of psychology. Membership is open to students majoring/minoring in psychology who meet the following scholastic requirements. The student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior, be in the top 35% of their respective class, and have a 3.00 overall GPA and a 3.00 psychology GPA.

We are Heading to San Antonio in 2008!

This year, the 55th annual Southwestern Psychological Association (a nine state regional conference) will be held in San Antonio. Right now, students are designing a research project, analyzing the data, and submitting it to reviewers. The last few years have seen 48 students present research. We are very proud of their accomplishments and look forward to adding your presentation to this growing number.

Psychology Club

The requirements of Psi Chi often result in students not being able to join until the end of their sophomore or beginning of their junior year. Unfortunately, this leaves those students with 3-4 semesters to be active (not to mention the competition for time from  work and participation in other organizations). By comparison, other service and honor societies allow students to join earlier, and those students have 3-4 years to grow and shape the society. Well, Psychology can do that too.  As of Fall 2003, the Psi Chi officers at MSU have formed the Psychology Club. Anyone can join this club provided they are a psychology minor or major. There are no credit or GPA requirements. Our hope is that more students will take the opportunity to become involved on campus and in the community.
