Midwestern State University has both a fall and a spring semester abroad program in the Loire Valley that focuses on the humanities. The program takes place at L' Abbaye in Pontlevoy, France. Courses are taught in English except for the French courses. Within the humanities program, a more specific curriculum for those interested in French studies also exists with courses on language, literature, and culture.

The French and German Departments have relations with companies and universities which sponsor other study abroad programs, for which a student may receive university credit. Call the Foreign Language Department at (940) 397-4309
The Spanish Department has a program with the Universidad de las Americas (UDLA) in Cholula, Mexico (State of Puebla). Tour the campus and area via the university's site: http://www.udlap.mx/internacional/cilc/default.aspx. There is an intermediate and an advanced program, both are six weeks, from May 18 to June 29, 2007, for which a student receives six hours of Spanish credit. A prerequisite for intermediate courses is Spanish 1134 and 1234. A prerequisite for the advanced classes is Spanish 2133 and 2233 (intermediate courses). Students in the advanced program receive six hours of credit for two Spanish 4013 class.Scholarships are available for qualified students. This trip will give you the opportunity to travel within Mexico, make new friends, learn Spanish, and have fun--all at the same time! Students will be lodged at UDLA student residences.
